I am officially getting into the Christmas spirit, much earlier than usual. Tomorrow is card writing day and I have a plan. It is foolproof and involves roping my mother into writing her own cards at the same time whilst our dinner is cooking (she is visiting me tomorrow) and not being allowed to eat until we have done them! We both like our food (especially a sunday roast) so that is one BIG incentive. So look out for post from jenistarfish if you are on her Christmas card list and yes, it just may be the first year in around two decades that I have actually succeeded in getting them out before Christmas Eve. Phew!
And I got my tree today! A tiny little table top one to go in my tiny little cosy home. It is a growing thing of beauty in a red pot and I got talking to the nice boys at Pextons (the best hardware shop in York..there is NOTHING they do not sell or cannot source!) about what a pity it is that we don't have a festive tree all year round.
And yes, you guessed it. The gently rebellious child in me (WHAT has got into me lately?!) said well, why ever not?
So come 6th Janaury off will come the red and the green and the gold and on will go the...well, I don't quite know what. But since January is my birthday month (13th for anyone who wants to send me precious jewels and Chanel) I'll think of something nice. February can be hearts. March can be just mad stuff. April can be spring flowers. May can be nuts (I know, bizarre - word association football, I'm afraid...) June can be images of the sun. July can be holiday fun stuff. August can be hazy seascapes. September can be autumn leaves. October can be magicks. November can be firecrackers and then we are back to December.
Plenty to celebrate. My tree is going to have a very good year.
And so are we all.
Now, whilst I am so much in the spirit of it all, here is a little offer from the starfish heart. I have five copies of my book Life Coaching for Dummies which are calling to me to find a good and deserving home. Yes, pretty much everyone who reads this blog will have read or at least be in possession of my first literary baby. What I'm thinking is that some of you may know someone who would truly appreciate and put to good use such a gift, especially if sent direct from the author with a special dedication. Someone who is just on the brink of a big life change, or who is so stuck they can't even see that they are stuck, and who you care about very much. Someone for whom this just might be the little catalyst that gets them started on that amazing roller coaster journey that is personal transformation.
If you want that to happen, please drop me a wee email direct jeni@reachforstarfish.com) quoting "starfish gift" in the subject line and tell me just a little bit about you and the person you want to gift. Just as much as you want to share. I'll trust the universe to guide me to know who needs these most. No catch. I hope you know that about me by now.
OK, gotta dash. My tree wants dressing. It's been waiting all its short life to be a celebration tree and it just can't wait anymore...and neither can I!

Many thanks Jeni. Happy Christmas. :o)
